In pursuit of balanced winegrowing

Il territorio

The heart of La Tosa

Nineteen hectares of vineyards that enclose the soul and identity of La Tosa, where no two plots are the same. Our philosophy of the vineyard is reflected in the work to achieve maximum concentration, complexity, personality and aromatic richness of the grape, to transfer them into the wine, respecting the healthy state of nature.

A closer look

A landscape covered in woods, vineyards and pristine nature populated by a rich wildlife. It belongs in the "Ancient Red Lands" typology, the oldest in Emilia-Romagna and consists of terracings created by the stacking of fluvial sediments. Rich in minerals, these terrains tend to be rather clayey and subacid, furthermore they feature strong water retention properties: all of this goes in favour of the structure, the complexity, the intenensity of the colour, the longevity of the wine's durability.

One step away from you

Located at the entrance of the Nure Valley, La Tosa benefits from the touristic flow generated by the surrounding beauties: the medieval village of Grazzano Visconti, rebuilt at the beginning of the 20th century and well-known for its history as well as for the extraordinary quality of local handcrafted products; Bettola, with its vaguely Ligurian atmosphere and in which the grandparents of Christopher Columbus have allegedly been born; Bobbio, one of Europe's most important cultural and religious hubs between the year 900 and 1000; the town of Rivalta, encircled by its ancient walls, famous for its beautiful castle, which can be visited entirely. Other nearby locations of cultural interest are Rocca d’Olgisio, Cortemaggiore, Chiaravalle, Parma, Castell’Arquato, Vigoleno and, last but not least, Piacenza itself.
